• Class II Driver
  • About the role:

    A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Class II Driver to join our delivery team on a full-time basis for a six-month contract.

    Working hours are between 40-48 per week, Monday-Friday, 04:30 – Finish. We are ideally looking for someone to start on 10th September 2017.

    Main duties:

    • Take responsibility to deliver all orders ‘on time in full’
    • Demonstrate a flexible willing approach, keeping an open mind when presented with unplanned issues or events.
    • Complete all required paperwork, in line with procedures set out in the delivery driver’s manual.
    • Show initiative when seeking resolution to customer service issues when on site.
    • Report on site issues / short deliveries on any order affected
    • Seek and report customer feedback, assisting the company in our aim to becoming the preferred supplier.
    • Promote the company name, business and reputation at all times.
    • Present yourself in an appropriate manner, fit for the ‘face of the company’
    • Take a pro-active approach to internal focus groups, promoting and demonstrate the required ‘eye to detail’ and approach to quality in all aspects of the role.
    • Meet targets specified regarding waste reduction, productivity, quality and efficiencies.


    Key responsibilities with regards to Health & Safety, Compliance and Legislation:

    • Comply to all Road and Traffic Legislation
    • Comply with all EU drivers hours regulations
    • Comply with all Working Time Directive regulations
    • Carry out all daily/weekly vehicle checks and report as instructed.
    • Comply with all speed limits
    • Operate in accordance with tachograph legislation
    • Drive in a safe and fuel efficient manner at all times
    • Follow instructions as per the procedures and policies set out in the ‘Delivery Drivers Manual’.
    • Complete daily weekly records in order for vehicle and team performance to be measured.
    • Understand and take responsibility of Health and Safety in your daily roles
    • Carry out daily tasks within Health and Safety guidelines and procedures set out.
    • Identify and report any Health and Safety issues to your line manager.
    • Actively promote and supervise Health and Safety best practice within the delivery team.
    • Proactive approach to Risk Assessments, annual reviews, Safe Systems of Work and instant investigation.


    What you will bring to the role:

    Qualifications/Experience:

    • Must hold a valid, full UK driving licence and a Class 2 licence
    • Must have previous experience in a delivery role
    • Must have a good working knowledge of WTD and all legal requirements that are necessary

    Key Skills / Attributes:

    • Must have good time keeping, being at work in plenty of time to organise your day.
    • Must be able to deal with un-planned issues and organise a resolution.
    • Must be able to communicate with other employees in a professional manner.
    • Must be happy to communicate to people on the phone.
