  • The Premiere team carries out regular fundraising activities (some more energetic than others) in support of a range of local and national charities. Here are a few examples:

  • NHH logo
Howard Garden Social Centre wnated to revamp an out of use treatment room ready for a staff community day in 2016. North Hertfordshire Homes planned to install a mini kitchen in the room and replace items such as treatment tables.  Building on the years of successful partnership with NHH, Premiere were happy to support the project through the donation of a kitchen.
  • Ross Bridges

May 2014 – Tewkesbury Half Marathon

Ross Bridges recently took part in the Tewkesbury half marathon (his first one!), running for Cancer Research and as a personal challenge. After overcoming a rigorous training schedule and injury set back, with the support of friends and family, Ross completed the course in a very respectable time of 2:12:33. With all the kind donations from staff at Premiere Furniture, Ross expects to raise just over £400 pounds for his chosen charity.

  • Steve Chilman

May 2014 – British Heart Foundation Bike Ride

On the 18th May 2014 Steve Chilman took part in the British Heart Foundation (BHF) Cotswolds Bike Ride, to help support the work that the BHF do to help prevent Coronary Heart Disease. After a gentle start, Steve conquered the steep hills, including ‘Cardiac Hill’, before completing the course undulating through the Cotswolds. Thanks to Steve's efforts he raised over £100 for the BHF, including a contribution from the staff at Markey Group.

August 2012 – John O’Groats to Lands End

Andy Barham, general manager team delivery, took part in the Near Naked Man challenge to raise money for the Male Cancer Awareness Campaign (MCAC). The challenge was to run and cycle a total of 900 miles from John O’Groats to Lands End in eight days. We're pleased to say Andy was successful (he even stopped by the office en-route) and raised over £4,000 for the charity, including £250 raised by Markey Group.

Father and son duo, Paul and James Markey took part in the 2012 London Marathon, running 26 miles around the city. Markey Group staff took part in their own challenge of guessing their combined time which was 8 hours 46 minutes and 12 seconds. We raised £298 which was donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre.

Jan 2012 to Jan 2013 - Dress Down Money collected

March 2011 - Comic Relief “Do something funny for money”
For this event we wanted to do something different, so targeted the IT department for a willing volunteer and, after much persuasion, Ben gave in to the pressure. Our idea was to get Ben to wear a dress for the day. The target was to get our fellow colleagues to come together and pledge at least £250 before Ben would transform into a female for the day. Needless to say everyone seemed rather keen to make this happen and we raised £438!

March 2010 – Sport Relief Mile

We recruited a team of runners from around the Markey Group to take part in the Sport Relief Run. The participants could either run one, three or six miles. Most opted for three, but there were a few brave ones going for six! The route was around the centre of Gloucester, starting at Gloucester Park, where warm up events had been arranged.
